Liberal Party of Canada
Crime and Punishment
Liberals believe that mankind is naturally good, an optimistic view on humans. No need for aggressive enforcement or harsh punishment, and abolishing the death sentence. Liberals follow the philosophy of John Locke and his philosophy on human nature.

The cause of Crime is more complex; people don’t just commit a crime for no apparent reason. Crime also brings more inequality, racism and sexism.

For liberals, their beliefs on justice is putting the one who committed a crime put on trial for the crime. The best form of punishment is rehabilitation in their point of view. Society is the one to blame for not providing the materials needed for the individual, which lead to his corruption.
